Our Programs - Kaleidoscope

KALEIDOSCOPE is a 12-session peer support program for adults dealing with unresolved grief due to any type of parental loss at any time in their lives.

Like the colored bits of glass in a kaleidoscope, life's joyful and painful events shape the person we are and the quality of our relationships with others. Loss of parents through death, divorce, abandonment or separation can affect how we act, feel and think, particularly about ourselves. We may bury our feelings of grief with work or play, but they remain inside.

If grief isn't healed at the appropriate time, it may be repressed or become chronic. When grief does not have an opportunity to be resolved, its impact can be destructive. Dysfunctional relationships, substance abuse and depression are all signs of unresolved grief.

KALEIDOSCOPE is not therapy or counseling, but an opportunity to journey through grief with other adults who have similar feelings, fears, and experiences.and thus, to heal.
